Despite the crazy southerly blowing Lisa and Mark braved the cold and got married on Flagstaff hill in Wollongong. At one stage the wind was so strong the chairs set up for the ceremony were blowing away. Good on them for sticking to their outdoor ceremony rather than dragging it inside, as just as the ceremony was coming to an end the clouds parted and the sun came out. It was a pretty cool moment that was celebrated by all. The reception was held at City Beach function centre but before the festivities Wollongong harbour was the location for their photo shoot. Again, the sun came out right on time and provided for some great light and some welcomed warmth. Everyone at berg wishes them every happiness.

It was a little cold but the sun was still shining for Catherine and CJ on their big day. The ceremony was held at the Anglican Church at Kiama and the reception was held at Warilla Bowling club. Our location shoot took us all over the Illawarra including Kiama Harbour, Jambaroo and Killalea. The chill from the breeze didn’t stop them from getting out there. Beautiful images don’t come without a little effort and these guys were up for it. CJ is certainly not the sort of bloke to pose for photos but it didn’t take long for him to relax and get into the swing of things. It was a fun day and these guys seem very much in love. Thanks for letting berg be part of your very special day.

A beautiful winters day was on show for Alana and Hoang. It was actually hot, you could not have asked for better weather. The ceremony was held at the Rhododendron Gargens at Mt Ousley and the reception at Villa Doro. The light was directly behind the couple during the ceremony which created the most beautiful glow to thier images. The ceromony was very emotional with not a dry eye in the gardens. The location shoot was shared between three locations. The Gardens, an old timber door in town and Wollongong Harbour. Alana got out her old riding boots for a shot in front of an old timber door that created a classic looking image. These guys were very natural together which helped create beautiful images. From all the team at berg we wish them every happiness.

What a great day. After rain the previous day it dried up nicely and the sun was shining for this great couple. The wedding was held at the Rhododendron Gardens in Mt Ousley and the reception was held at the Mt Top Restuarant on Mt Keira. One thing that really stood out for me was how natural and relaxed these guys are together which made taking their photographs so much easier. The entire shoot we just laughed and had a great time. All the team at berg photography would like to wish them every happiness.

I have photographed over 650 weddings in my career and have seen just about everything you can imagine. Weddings can be average or awesome depending on the decisions you make early in the process. Take your time and do your research. Ask lots of questions to all the suppliers you are considering. Don’t be pressured into any decision by anyone – This your day and you should have the dream wedding you deserve. I have listed a few tips that may help you along the way. Good luck and Congratulations, Mark Berg.

Choosing your Wedding Photographer

I think this one of the most important decisions for you to make, but that’s obvious as I’m a photographer. In saying that though, remember that all you have left at the end of the day are your photographs and to me that makes it a big deal. Consider the following questions when meeting a photographer -

Berg Photography & Portraits: Wollongong's premium wedding photographers. Situated in the heart of Wollongong for over 10
